1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Sparekey ("the Platform"), creating a house account, or inviting housemates, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service.
2. Description of Service
Sparekey is a shared house accounting software platform designed to track daily shared expenses, calculate netted balances, schedule monthly utility bills, manage chore rotations, and maintain shared household documents.
Important Notice Regarding Money Transfers
Sparekey is an accounting and calculation tool. Sparekey does NOT hold, move, transfer, or process real money directly. All financial settlements occur offline or via external payment methods chosen by housemates (such as UPI, bank transfers, or cash).
3. User Accounts & House Membership
- You must provide accurate account information when registering via Apple, Google, or email.
- House join codes must only be shared with authorized housemates living in your flat.
- House administrators are responsible for approving or declining join requests for their flat.
4. Data Accuracy & Ledger Rules
Users are responsible for the accuracy of expenses logged into the system. Sparekey provides an immutable audit feed; once a monthly cycle is closed, past statements freeze into read-only history to prevent quiet or retroactive changes.
5. Termination & House Exit
A housemate may leave a house group at any time. Unsettled balance records associated with a departing member remain active until fully resolved between flatmates.
